A major presence in our community

Goodwill Industries of Denver operates 17 retail stores, 13 freestanding donation centers, 2 warehouses, and 1 discount centers. The retail operation alone employs more than 700 employees, 75% of whom are either disabled or disadvantaged. In addition, throuigh its retail operations, Goodwill is a major community recycler and keeps more than 50 million pounds of goods out of our landfills each year.

So where does the money go?

The money raised from your shopping purchase allows Goodwill to support 30,000 people in our community each year through a wide variety of programs that were specifically designed to address the unique needs of our community.

This includes our high school career development program which employs teachers who work in 26 area high schools in our community and helps 26,000 teenagers annually get the education and training they need to get a good career.

It also helps us cover overhead expenses for programs such as work options for the disabled and adult job training and placement that helps 4,500 adults each year gain the skills they need to get off welfare.

In addition, Goodwill stores employ over 700 people in our community who need this job to support themselves and their family. In fact, 75% of the people employed in Goodwill stores are either econimically disadvantaged or disabled.
